Welcome to My-Moto.us

Since the early 1970s, my life has been a blur of two wheels and the sweet satisfaction of a well-tuned engine. As I approach 70, my passion for the ride is stronger than ever, especially aboard the vintage, 700cc-and-under machines that fill my garage. My true joy lies in chasing the perfect line on the twisty backroads and scenic state routes of Ohio, but I also believe a true rider understands their machine inside and out.

Welcome to my corner of the internet, where decades of riding and wrenching experience collide. Here, you'll discover my top Ohio rides, insights on everything from essential gear to the bikes themselves, and crucial discussions on safety – all for the love of the ride.

About Me

My motorbike adventure began in 1970 when I was 13 years old. It all started when Pop brought home a Kawasaki 75MT. We had it all of about a week before Pop thought we should have something more like a real motorbike. We loaded up the little Kawasaki and headed down to the local Honda dealer.

After an hour or so of looking and a quick try-out in the large parking lot of the municipal swimming pool across the street, we headed home with a shiny new blue Honda SL-70. This bike had a clutch and large spoke wheels….. a proper motorbike. In all honesty, I think Pop just didn’t like the Kawasaki because it had a 2-cycle engine. This little blue Honda was a 4-stoke!

Honda SL70

Little did I know that this was to be the start of a life-long adventure with motorbikes. That Honda SL70 provided my introduction into so many learning experiences. I learned about oil changes and tune-ups. fixing flat tires, and cleaning air filters.

There were many other off-road bikes that followed that first motorbike, and when I turned 16, the motobike adventure expanded to include many street bikes as well.
