This Year's Honda SOHC 25 in 25...

Over at the Honda SOHC forum we have a contest each year. The goal, is for all the guys to get out and ride their old motorbikes. If you meet the challenge you get a metal key fob like the one pictured above. It's a fun contest, and since there are members from all over the world, ride reports come in throughout the year.
This yearly contest got started back in 2020 by a kind soul named Frank Motschko. Frank was quite the character and a frequent poster on the SOHC forum. Frank said he was tired of hearing excuses why people weren't riding their bikes. The contest was just a way to prod folks into getting out and doing some miles in the saddle.
Frank headed up the contest in 2020 and 2021, but lost his life after a bikecycle accident in the fall of 2021. It sort of took the wind from our sails, but in 2022 Terry in Australia, another forum member, got the ball rolling with the 22 in 22 contest.

It's now well established and for the past three years all riders completing the challenge have recieved metal key fobs. Terry in Australia organizes the yearly contest, BudMan down in Texas creates the metal key fobs, and KevidD in Michigan see that they get mailed out to the contest winners. It's quite entertaining, and I believe that Frank would be proud to see that it is having the desired effect!
I was hoping to complete my 25 ride in 2025 by my birthday in May this year, but weather and other issues delayed that by a few days. It was an early morning ride on May 14 when I got in ride #25. No destination just 58.4 miles of meandering around. Beautiful morning, the scent of honeysuckle filled the air along the back roads.

Here's hoping you get your 25 rides in 2025! It will make Frank proud, and make you feel alive.
Ride safe & take care - Dennis
